The Barn

‘The Barn’ (or should it be Barns) were originally part of Penymynydd Farm. The original stone farmhouse was located where the cars are now parked. Built around 1790 from locally quarried stone, the farmhouse was demolished in the 1960s, but the agricultural barns were still standing when the property was bought by the previous owners in the mid-1970s, although they were in a poor state.

The energy and vision that turned two derelict barns into the current property over the space of almost 50 years is truly remarkable. From living in a caravan on site, to raising two children in a single barn, to fitting out the second barn is a remarkable achievement.

I have never made a website before so will have to see how this goes, and discover what opportunities it offers. Maybe a portfolio of my nature photos, some of my research into old vehicles, history of The Barn, or maybe people and places.

And then there is Debbie, and she has her own talents and hobbies including keeping The Barn from turning into a mess – which would invariably happen if Steve was left to his own devices.

All of this is hosted on a tiny Blackberry Pi computer – which is why it is a bit slow !!
